Job Description The Mail Services Manager effectively leads the daily operations for each of the specialized service areas making up the Mail Services department. The Employee will uphold mail room best practices aligned with USPS regulations and mailing/shipping industry standards in order to meet financial goals and drive efficiency. They will negotiate the purchase or lease costs for mail room equipment and keep software licenses and postal permits up-to-date. The Employee must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and function well in a fast paced environment. The Mail Services Manager is responsible for setting clear objectives for the Mail Services Team; managing their performance, workload, and scheduling. They will work with internal departments throughout the company to plan and coordinate projects and services, as well as maintain external vendor and business relationships. The Mail Services Manager will align their actions with Biltmore's core values; ensuring impeccable service, maintaining safe and efficient environments and equipment, cultivating growth and development plans, properly managing expenses, and continually striving for improvement.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Direct operations and work-flow for the mail services team 2. Coordinate with USPS, FEDEX, UPS, AMAZON, freight companies and local carriers 3. Support and provide opportunities for staff growth and development 4. Build relationships with internal business partners, external vendors, shipping carriers, and delivery drivers. 5. Maintain required permits, licenses, leases, maintenance agreements, contracts, etc. 6. Execute the annual strategic plan, expense budget, employee survey action plan 7. Solve mail and package delivery issues, assist with mailing and shipping questions 8.
Carry-out administrative duties:
inventory and supply ordering, invoices, reports, employee evaluations, payroll, safety inspections, etc. 9. Purchase or lease mail room equipment as needed to comply with postal regulations 10. Interview, hire and oversee OJT training of new employees
Qualifications:
1. Minimum Education Requirements
2 year Degree
Business or Hospitality management 2. Minimum Experience Requirements
2 years working in the Mailing/Shipping Industry, 2 years of Leadership
preferably leading a team of at least 3-4 people 3. Knowledge Requirements
be flexible, work at a fast pace, remain professional under pressure 6. Education Preferred
4 year Degree
Business or Hospitality management 7. Experience Preferred
4 years working in the Mailing/Shipping Industry, 4 years of Leadership
preferably leading a team of at least 4-6 people Required Certifications (if any): None are required at time of hire Mailing Industry Certifications can be earned while on the job
some examples are Certified Mail Manager (CMM), Executive Mail Center Manager (EMCM), Mail Design Professional (MDP), Certified Direct Mail Professional (CDMP)
Physical Requirements:

in office and in vehicles 3.
Carrying up to 35 lbs at a time, daily 4. Warehouse/office work environment 5. Work is both indoors and outdoors 6. Move up to 2000 lbs at a time for short distances, using equipment 7. Good manual dexterity needed for computer work, folding, stuffing, sealing
