About the Role We're looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager who understands fencing materials and the pace of construction work. You'll own the yard and warehouse end to end: receiving, inventory accuracy, kitting and staging material for next-day installs, load-out, returns, equipment, and safety. This is a hands-on job. You'll be on a forklift, walking the yard, and solving problems with crew leaders before the sun's up. We want someone who takes pride in a yard that runs clean and tight. What You'll Do 1. Job Staging & Load-Out
Pull and stage material for each work order off the takeoff/BOM — posts, rails, fabric, panels, pickets, gates, hardware, concrete — so crews load and roll by [6:30 AM]
Build gate hardware kits and small-parts bags by job to eliminate mid-day supply runs
Verify staged material against the sales order and flag shortages or discrepancies to the PM or sales rep before the crew shows up
Coordinate daily with scheduling and production on job sequencing, change orders, and add-ons
Oversee load-out: correct loading of flatbeds and trailers, weight distribution, and DOT-compliant securement 2. Inventory Management
Own inventory accuracy across all product lines: chain link (fabric, terminal and line posts, top rail, tension bands, fittings), wood (cedar and pressure-treated pickets, rails, posts), vinyl, aluminum and ornamental steel, farm and welded wire, gate operators and access control hardware
Maintain min/max levels and reorder points; issue POs and follow up on vendor lead times and backorders
Run cycle counts, lead physical inventory, and research and resolve variances
Track material returned from jobs, restock what's usable, and reconcile it back against the job
Handle damaged and defective material, vendor RMAs, and warranty claims
Control shrinkage and report on turns, carrying costs, and dead stock 3. Yard & Warehouse Operations
Lay out and maintain yard and racking so fast-moving SKUs stay accessible and material isn't damaged by weather, handling, or stacking
Receive inbound freight — check against packing slips and POs, inspect for damage, put away same day
Maintain forklifts, telehandler, and yard equipment: daily inspections, PM schedule, and repair coordination
Manage tool and small-equipment checkout (augers, post drivers, welders, compactors, mixers) and track what's out with which crew 4. Team &
Safety
Supervise, schedule, and develop warehouse and yard staff — hiring, training, daily direction, and performance
Enforce PPE, forklift safety, and OSHA compliance; run weekly toolbox talks
Keep the yard clean, organized, and presentable — customers and inspectors see it Required Qualifications
3+ years managing a warehouse, yard, or material operation in fencing, construction, building materials, or a related trade
Working knowledge of fence systems and materials, or comparable construction material knowledge you can apply quickly
Ability to read and work from material takeoffs, work orders, and basic site plans
