$50,000•75,000 per year, depending on experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food distribution warehouse in Union, New Jersey. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, food safety and sanitation, staff supervision, and coordination of deliveries and store replenishment. This position plays a key role in ensuring products are received, stored, handled, and distributed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader with experience managing a food warehouse or distribution operation and the ability to maintain strong operational and safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping Ensure products are stored properly according to applicable dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage requirements Maintain organized product locations and efficient warehouse workflow Ensure receiving and outgoing orders are completed accurately and on schedule Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and safe warehouse environment Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and operating procedures Inventory & Food Safety Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies between physical and system inventory Conduct and oversee regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices and proper expiration-date controls Monitor expired, damaged, recalled, returned, or otherwise non-compliant products Track inventory loss, shrinkage, and product damage Prepare inventory, loss, and operational reports for management and accounting teams Ensure food products are handled and stored according to applicable food-safety and sanitation requirements Staff Management & Training Supervise warehouse employees and coordinate daily assignments, priorities, and schedules Provide clear direction and follow up on completion of warehouse tasks Train employees on warehouse procedures, food safety, sanitation, and company standards Reinforce proper food-handling, personal hygiene, and workplace safety practices Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and compliance with company policies Help develop a productive, organized, and accountable warehouse team Store & Logistics Coordination Coordinate product replenishment and delivery schedules with stores, purchasing, and operations teams Ensure store orders are prepared accurately and on time Manage product transfers, returns, and urgent store requests Coordinate with third-party logistics and transportation providers Investigate and help resolve delivery shortages, damages, delays, and other logistics issues Communicate warehouse or delivery issues promptly to the appropriate departments Compliance, Safety & Incident Management Maintain compliance with applicable food-safety, workplace-safety, sanitation, and fire-safety requirements Identify and address unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, product issues, and other operational risks Ensure workplace incidents and food-safety concerns are properly reported and documented Assist with inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions Assist management with documentation related to warehouse damage, accidents, and insurance claims when necessary Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in food warehousing, distribution, logistics, or a similar operation , with supervisory or management experience strongly preferred Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, business, food operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered Knowledge of food-storage practices, FIFO, expiration-date management, inventory control, sanitation, and warehouse safety Experience using inventory management, warehouse management, or similar computer systems Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse employees, store teams, purchasing, management, and outside logistics partners Ability to prioritize multiple operational needs in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working in an active warehouse environment English and Chinese bilingual ability a plus English and Japanese bilingual ability a plus Work Schedule Full-time position Schedule based on warehouse and business operational needs In-person at our Union, New Jersey warehouse
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
