We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing & Inventory Supervisor to support warehouse and inventory operations in San Luis Obispo, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on warehouse oversight with strong purchasing, inventory control, and team leadership skills. The person in this role will help keep materials moving efficiently, maintain accurate stock records, and drive process improvements that strengthen day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
Direct day-to-day warehouse activities, including inbound receipts, product storage, order picking, staging, and outbound shipments to support smooth operations.
Oversee accurate fulfillment of customer demand across packaged lubricants, bulk oils, filters, grease, parts, and other stocked materials.
Maintain organized warehouse layouts that improve access, support efficient movement of goods, and align with safety and product-handling standards.
Take ownership of inventory integrity across warehouse locations by monitoring stock levels, reconciling counts, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Conduct recurring inventory checks, including biweekly bulk oil counts, and complete related receiving and inventory transactions within company systems.
Supervise and develop warehouse personnel through scheduling, coaching, feedback, and performance support to ensure reliable team execution.
Partner with purchasing, dispatch, operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to improve coordination, support business priorities, and strengthen inventory controls.
Review warehouse data and operational trends to identify improvement opportunities, establish standard procedures, and lead initiatives that increase efficiency and accuracy.
Oversee warehouse equipment readiness and support compliant handling of hazardous waste materials, including preparation for vendor pickup when needed.
