As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our operations into Lakeland, Florida , where we will provide final-mile delivery, pickup, cross-dock, and transportation services throughout Central and North Florida. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help launch, manage, and grow our Lakeland operation. This individual will play a key leadership role and will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive a consistently high level of service. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Lakeland facility. Oversee inbound and outbound freight, dock operations, deliveries, pickups, and route execution. Manage and provide leadership to dock personnel, office staff, drivers, and owner-operator contractors . Coordinate daily routes and ensure freight is dispatched efficiently and on time. Oversee customer service and maintain strong communication with customers and carrier partners. Monitor service performance, missed deliveries, exceptions, and operational issues. Ensure proper freight handling, scanning, documentation, and accountability. Recruit, onboard, and help manage owner-operator contractors as the operation grows. Maintain a safe, organized, professional, and productive warehouse environment. Control operational costs while maintaining a high level of customer service. Develop a strong team culture built around leadership, accountability, communication, and respect . Work closely with company leadership as we expand our presence throughout Central Florida. Qualifications 3-5 years of logistics or transportation operations experience required. Experience in final-mile logistics, LTL, distribution, or local pickup and delivery operations strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Central Florida geography , including Lakeland, Tampa, Orlando, surrounding markets, and major transportation corridors. Experience managing drivers, owner-operators, dock personnel, and operational staff. Strong leadership and staff-management skills. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced transportation environment. Strong customer-service mindset. Comfortable using transportation, dispatch, routing, and operational technology. Bachelor's degree preferred , particularly in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field. The Opportunity This is more than maintaining an existing operation.
