In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of warehouse management, transportation planning, distribution operations, and inventory control. Your leadership will drive process improvements, ensure seamless freight and shipping activities, and optimize overall supply chain efficiency. Duties Lead and supervise warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and dispatching, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Develop and execute transportation management strategies utilizing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize freight routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times. Oversee distribution operations and materials management to guarantee efficient warehouse distribution aligned with production planning and demand forecasting. Manage procurement activities including purchasing, vendor negotiations (including 3PL providers), and overseeing NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) logistics for international shipments. Implement process improvements using Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques to enhance workflow efficiency across all logistics functions. Monitor profit & loss statements, budgeting processes, and supply chain analytics to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining high service levels. Supervise warehouse staff with a focus on team management, managerial communication, safety protocols (including forklift operation), and performance development. Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms for inventory control, order tracking, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making. Coordinate transportation planning with freight carriers, fleet management teams, and NVOCC partners to ensure optimal delivery schedules. Maintain compliance with shipping & receiving regulations while managing freight documentation and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory control, demand planning, procurement, and distribution management. Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or equivalent, and transportation management systems (TMS). Demonstrated ability in process improvement initiatives such as Lean or continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, analysis, and communication purposes. Familiarity with freight forwarding processes including 3PL services, NVOCC operations, shipping & receiving procedures. Strong managerial communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments effectively. Knowledge of budget development, profit & loss analysis, and supply chain analytics for strategic planning.
