Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory and Shipping Manager to lead our supply chain operations, ensuring seamless management of inventory, warehouse distribution, and shipping logistics. In this role, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of products—from procurement and materials handling to order fulfillment and transportation management—driving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across all processes. Your leadership will be vital in optimizing warehouse operations, enhancing vendor relationships, and implementing process improvements that support our company's growth and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Oversee inventory control processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400 to maintain accurate stock levels and streamline stock replenishment. Manage shipping and receiving activities, coordinating with freight carriers, 3PL providers, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and transportation management systems (TMS) to ensure timely deliveries. Lead procurement activities including sourcing, category management, pricing negotiations, and vendor management to secure optimal terms and supply continuity. Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies or shipping delays to identify process gaps and implement effective solutions for continuous improvement. Utilize data analysis skills with tools like SQL, Excel data analysis, Tableau, and supply chain analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), forecast demand planning needs, and optimize inventory levels. Collaborate cross-functionally with production planning, customer service, logistics teams, and suppliers to enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, trade compliance standards, and customs procedures for international shipments. Practice safety standards in manual handling tasks within warehouse operations while maintaining a focus on warehouse safety protocols. Skills Extensive experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems (IMS), ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400, and transportation management systems (TMS). Strong data collection and analysis skills using Excel spreadsheets, SQL queries, Tableau dashboards, and other analytics tools. Proven ability in procurement, sourcing strategies, vendor management, negotiation skills, and category management. Knowledge of freight logistics including NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, shipping & receiving procedures, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and customs clearance. Expertise in warehouse operations including stocking strategies, materials handling, forklift operation certification preferred. Familiarity with demand planning techniques such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and production planning processes. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across logistics management, customer service teams, and suppliers. Ability to analyze supply chain data for process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency while reducing costs.
