About Ocean Aero:
Ocean Aero is an award-winning US company that has created the world's first and only environmentally powered Autonomous Underwater and Surface Vehicle (AUSV). Ocean Aero's autonomous marine robot, the Triton, operates exclusively on wind and solar energy and performs long endurance missions on the ocean surface with the ability to dive below the waves for underwater operations. The Triton uses a complex array of custom-built sensors, marinized electronics and software systems to operate, sense and communicate in the environment. Role Description:
The Supply Chain Manager will coordinate, organize, and oversee all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company's goods. As an early member of the team, you will take ownership of the product, and your actions will directly contribute to the success of the company. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Role Responsibilities:
Train department team members Oversee daily workflow and schedules of the department Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain Develop and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory Maintain required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company. Track money spent versus money to be spent on inventory Develop procedures to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; make recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials Evaluate vendor landscape. Drive dual / tri sourcing for components Forecast out purchasing / planning Negotiate prices for material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies. Drive volume purchasing Collaborate with the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments Perform other related duties as assigned Implement and manage company-wide ERP system
Role Requirements:
B.S. or B.A. in Business or related field from an accredited university 5+ years' experience in Supply Chain and related Supply Chain activities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with MS Project and MS Office tools Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Thorough understanding of company products and logistics Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Ability to work closely and build relationships with engineering teams and management US Government position. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance and US Passport Successfully pass drug test, background check, and motor vehicle screening Ability to travel (domestic and internationally)
