Boston Heights, OH Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Maintenance & Supply Chain Purchasing to lead maintenance operations, procurement initiatives, vendor management, and facilities reliability across a multi-site distribution network. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, optimizing purchasing processes, driving cost efficiencies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. Reporting to the Vice President of Distribution, this position will lead maintenance and procurement teams while partnering closely with distribution center leadership, finance, safety, facilities, and operations stakeholders to support business objectives and operational excellence. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Facilities Leadership Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime, facility reliability, and operational efficiency. Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs across multiple distribution centers and corporate facilities. Oversee facility repairs, equipment maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and capital projects. Ensure maintenance activities comply with regulatory, safety, and operational standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving asset performance. Procurement & Supply Chain Management Lead all purchasing and procurement activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, cost management, and procurement governance. Establish and maintain purchasing controls, supplier scorecards, and procurement best practices. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service and quality standards. Collaborate with finance on budget planning, forecasting, spending controls, and variance analysis. Contract & Vendor Management Oversee the full vendor contract lifecycle, including sourcing, bidding, negotiations, renewals, compliance reviews, and performance management. Conduct contract vetting activities, including contract review, risk assessment, compliance verification, pricing analysis, and negotiation support. Lead vendor management vetting processes, including supplier due diligence, qualification reviews, risk assessments, insurance verification, compliance monitoring, and performance evaluations. Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships while ensuring accountability to service-level agreements and business requirements. Manage vendor escalation processes and drive resolution of supplier performance issues. Safety & Compliance Partner with Safety/EHS leadership to support facilities-related safety standards and compliance initiatives. Ensure contractor and vendor adherence to organizational safety requirements. Support OSHA readiness, audit preparation, corrective action implementation, and risk mitigation efforts. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop high-performing maintenance and procurement teams. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures. Drive succession planning, employee development, and talent retention initiatives. Partner cross-functionally to align operational priorities and business strategies. Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities maintenance, procurement, supply chain, distribution, industrial operations, or related environments. 5+ years of experience leading managers and multi-functional teams. Proven success managing maintenance operations, purchasing programs, vendor contracts, budgets, and multi-site operations. Demonstrated experience with contract vetting , including contract review, compliance assessment, risk evaluation, and negotiation support. Demonstrated experience with vendor management vetting , including supplier qualification, due diligence reviews, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives. Excellent negotiation, vendor management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong understanding of maintenance operations, procurement best practices, and supplier governance. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field. Experience supporting distribution centers, fulfillment operations, automation systems, material handling equipment, construction projects, or large-scale maintenance programs. Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CFM, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or related credentials.
Pay:
$165,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
