Position Summary Herald Office Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager to own warehousing, logistics, and project management across the company. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations and based at our Dillon, SC headquarters, this leader is accountable for warehouse operations, delivery and fleet logistics, and the project management team across our markets.
This is an execution role:
the Operations Manager translates company objectives into operational performance and is accountable for the results. Key Responsibilities Operational Ownership Direct warehousing, logistics, and project management operations, ensuring every commitment to a customer is met on time and to standard. Serve as the operational point of accountability — the first call when something breaks and the last check before something ships.
Warehouse Management Own warehouse operations:
receiving, inventory accuracy, staging, storage, and safety. Establish and enforce inventory control standards; drive shrinkage and error rates toward zero. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, inspection-ready facility at all times. Logistics & Fleet Direct delivery and logistics operations across all Herald markets. Optimize routing, scheduling, and load planning for efficiency and on-time performance. Manage vehicle readiness, maintenance scheduling, and driver accountability across the fleet. Project Management Oversight Lead and develop the project manager team and be fully capable of running project crews in the field.
Own a wide-ranging project portfolio:
furniture installations, technology installations and equipment deployments/removals, restroom dispenser installs (towel, tissue, and related fixtures), and a broad range of plumbing installations.
Establish project standards:
scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, crew assignments, customer communication, and closeout. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to Herald's standard — every time, regardless of trade or project type. Process Development & Continuous Improvement Document, standardize, and continuously improve operational processes. Conduct after-action reviews on operational failures and implement corrective measures that prevent recurrence. Identify and champion technology and tooling that improve speed, accuracy, and cost. Team Leadership Hire, train, develop, and hold accountable warehouse, logistics, and project management personnel. Set clear performance standards and inspect against them. Build a culture of discipline, ownership, and pride in execution. Reporting & Communication Maintain operational metrics (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, project completion, cost per delivery) and report performance to the VP of Operations. Surface risks and obstacles early — with a recommended solution attached. Qualifications Required 5+ years of operations, logistics, or supply chain leadership with direct responsibility for teams and outcomes. Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations and delivery/fleet logistics. Proven track record of building and enforcing operational processes — and improving them. Hands-on experience leading field crews and running installation or construction-type projects; comfortable directing work across multiple trades (furniture, technology, fixtures, plumbing).
Strong leadership presence:
able to set standards, develop people, and hold the line. Proficiency with operational technology (WMS/inventory systems, routing tools, project tracking) and willingness to adopt new tools. Based in or willing to relocate to the Dillon, SC area. Strongly Preferred Military experience, particularly in a senior NCO leadership role (First Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, or equivalent) with responsibility for logistics, readiness, and personnel. Experience in distribution, field service, or a related multi-site service industry. Project management experience (with references).
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
