Job Description

Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all planning, scheduling, inventory management, customer fulfillment, logistics, and supply chain activities to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This role develops and executes strategies that ensure material availability, optimize inventory performance, improve on-time delivery, and support business growth while leading a team of supply chain professionals in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and develop production planning, scheduling, logistics, inventory control, and customer service personnel.

Coach, mentor, and develop employees while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Develop and implement supply chain strategies that improve efficiency, support safe operations, and achieve internal and external performance objectives. This includes proactive capacity planning, inventory optimization, quality performance, operational efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Own and drive key supply chain performance indicators including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, customer delivery performance, schedule attainment, and freight cost reduction.

Establish departmental objectives aligned with plant and corporate goals.

Drive accountability through performance metrics, coaching, and development planning.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of production, manufacturing, and distribution processes and effectively communicate requirements across the organization.

Manage customer relationships, release accuracy, shipping schedules, and delivery

performance.

Lead supplier communications and support commercial negotiations to ensure supply continuity and performance.

Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to support new product launches and business growth initiatives.

Ensure ERP data integrity and transaction accuracy through review of production orders, inventory transactions, and material consumption. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve planning, scheduling, and inventory discrepancies.

Develop and present daily, weekly, and monthly supply chain performance reports to support management decision-making.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and data-driven problem-solving techniques

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field

Minimum 5-7 years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.

APICS/ASCM

Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification required.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to manage multiple projects at once.

Must have a basic knowledge or training of 5's and Lean Manufacturing.

Must have ability to understand steel processing manufacturing processes used in the automotive industry.

Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
