This role oversees CDL drivers, ensures DOT and FMCSA compliance, maintains high safety and service standards, and works closely with operations, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong transportation, fleet, and compliance experience who can drive operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety and accountability. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and support a team of CDL drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Coordinate and support transportation and forklift safety programs, including daily safety practices, inspections, coaching, and follow-up actions. Oversee scheduling, routing, and daily dispatch activities to meet delivery deadlines and optimize transportation costs. Monitor driver performance, including training, compliance, coaching, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Maintain DOT and FMCSA compliance, including driver qualification files, logs, inspections, and required documentation. Collaborate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to align transportation plans with business needs. Manage maintenance schedules for company trucks and trailers in partnership with service providers. Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels, and cost performance. Assist with onboarding, refresher training, and ongoing coaching for CDL drivers, forklift operators, and team members working around transportation and warehouse equipment. Conduct routine observations and audits to identify unsafe behaviors, equipment concerns, traffic flow risks, loading dock hazards, and opportunities for process improvement. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as needed. Foster a culture of care, commitment, accountability, and safety. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management. Proven experience managing CDL drivers or a similar fleet operation. Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Forklift certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Transportation or workplace safety training experience. CDL License.
