Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a Certified Traffic Control Supervisor, where you will lead and oversee traffic control operations on roadway construction and maintenance projects. Your expertise will ensure the safety of workers and the public while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. You will coordinate traffic control setups, supervise crews, and ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed in outdoor work environments. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate traffic control activities across roadway construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient flow of traffic around work zones. Lead traffic control teams in setting up, maintaining, and dismantling temporary traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signs, and flagging operations. Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of power tools and hand tools, and compliance with FMCSA regulations for commercial truck driving. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor roadway conditions, utility locating efforts, and the proper functioning of traffic control devices. Collaborate with project managers to plan daily work schedules and allocate resources efficiently for road construction projects involving heavy lifting, welding, mechanical repairs, and highway maintenance. Maintain detailed documentation of daily operations, safety incidents, equipment usage logs, and compliance reports to support project accountability. Qualifications Valid NCDOT certification in Traffic Control or equivalent certification demonstrating expertise in traffic management for construction zones. Must have 2 years flagger experience . Up-to-date flagger certification. NC basic work zone installer certification. NC Supervisor Certification. OSHA 10. Clean drives license. Must clear background check. Must be able to work flexible hours. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a focus on safety protocols during outdoor work on complex road construction sites. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required in construction settings; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
