Position Summary Long Foundation Drilling Co. is seeking an organized and dependable Logistics & Transportation Coordinator to coordinate the movement of company equipment, tooling, materials, and rental equipment. This position is primarily office-based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, but requires approximately 10-20% travel . The Logistics & Transportation Coordinator will work closely with trucking companies, drivers, project managers, superintendents, yard personnel, vendors, and rental-equipment providers. When operations require additional support, this individual must also be willing to assist with loading and unloading trucks or making equipment and material deliveries, provided the employee possesses the required license, training, qualifications, and authorization. Key Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate transportation for company equipment, tooling, materials, and other project resources. Coordinate lowboy, step-deck, flatbed, oversized, heavy-haul, and standard freight movements. Confirm load requirements, equipment information, pickup and delivery locations, site contacts, access requirements, and requested delivery times. Communicate transportation requirements with carriers, drivers, project managers, superintendents, vendors, and yard personnel. Track loads from the initial request through successful pickup and delivery. Maintain an organized schedule of upcoming, active, delayed, and completed freight movements. Communicate transportation delays, scheduling changes, and other issues promptly to affected personnel. Identify alternative transportation options when project schedules change or urgent needs arise. Coordinate equipment movements between project sites, company yards, vendors, repair facilities, and other locations. Coordinate rental-equipment deliveries, pickups, extensions, exchanges, transfers, and off-rent requests. Track active rentals and help prevent unnecessary rental charges. Assist with the information and documentation required for oversized or overweight load permits. Maintain accurate freight, rental, delivery, permit, and vendor records. Assist with reviewing and verifying transportation and rental charges. Operate a company vehicle or assist with deliveries when properly licensed, qualified, authorized, and requested. Assist with loading and unloading trucks using a forklift, telehandler, or similar equipment when properly trained and authorized. Qualifications Required Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and electronic tracking systems. Ability to maintain accurate records and schedules. Ability to communicate effectively with field and office personnel, drivers, carriers, and vendors. Willingness to learn about construction equipment, transportation requirements, and company operations. Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record. Willingness to travel approximately 10-20%. Ability and willingness to operate a forklift, telehandler, or similar support equipment after completing the required training and authorization. Preferred Previous experience in logistics, transportation, construction, equipment rental, dispatching, or a related field. Familiarity with heavy construction equipment and trucking. Experience coordinating flatbed, step-deck, lowboy, or heavy-haul transportation. CDL Class A or Class B license. Previous commercial driving experience. Experience working with equipment rental companies or construction contractors. Compensation Annual salary of $65,000-$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
