•Director of Transportation and Logistics to lead our enterprise-level transportation network across a $12 billion warehousing and distribution ecosystem. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational execution, financial optimization, and scaling of our entire multi-modal outbound and inbound transportation infrastructure. You will manage high-volume, complex distribution channels spanning Small Parcel, Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL), and Overseas (Ocean/Air Freight). The ideal candidate has deep expertise in omni-channel logistics, carrier contract negotiations, network design, transportation management systems (TMS), and scaling logistics operations to support a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.
Negotiation & Commercial Acumen:
Proven track record of negotiating multi-million-dollar carrier contracts, managing carrier relationships during market disruptions, and scaling capacity in tight markets.
Leadership Skills:
Exceptional leadership, change management, and cross-functional communication skills with a track record of building and developing top-tier teams.
Full-Time Salary:
$175,000 to $185,000 per year You will: Manage high-volume parcel carrier relationships (national and regional carriers), zone skipping strategies, residential delivery optimization, and parcel audit/billing processes. Oversee and manage
FLT, LTL
network performance, routing guides, consolidation programs, freight class optimization, and accessorial charge mitigation; manage dedicated fleet operations, spot and contract carrier pools, drop-trailer pools, and driver/capacity management to support high-volume distribution centers. Direct global import/export logistics, ocean container freight management (FCL/LCL), air cargo expediting, customs compliance, port-to-warehouse drayage, and international freight forwarder partnerships. Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term transportation and logistics strategy aligned with the company's $12B enterprise growth, customer service level agreements (SLAs), and sustainability goals, own the multi-hundred-million-dollar transportation annual operating budget, capital expenditures, and financial forecasting. Champion the adoption and optimization of advanced Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS) integrations, yard management systems, and real-time visibility platforms. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and executive dashboards tracking on-time delivery (OTD), cost per case/pound, tender acceptance rates, transit reliability, and carbon footprint reduction. Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing corporate logistics and regional transportation management team, and partner closely with warehousing, procurement, sales, customer service, and merchandising to synchronize supply chain execution with customer demand and inventory strategy.
You have:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree / MBA is strongly preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management within a large-scale, complex retail, wholesale, or distribution environment ($5B+ enterprise scale preferred). Demonstrated, hands-on mastery in managing all primary transportation modes: Small Parcel, LTL, FTL, and International Ocean/Air freight.
Technical Mastery:
Advanced proficiency with enterprise Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), Microsoft Suite. 10-15% travel is required We offer a dynamic environment for our more than 13,000 employees to work, learn, and grow professionally.
