Job Description

This is not an air traffic control job. Safe Shield Traffic Solutions has immediate openings for the position of Traffic Control Supervisor. We are currently conducting interviews and encourage applicants to apply!
MUST HAVE SCDOT CERTIFICATION. MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
Traffic Controllers must pass a drug test prior to employment and maintain likewise throughout employment. Candidates must become certified in basic traffic safety techniques by attending training class provided by Safe Shield. Traffic Controllers must create a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not cause a threat. This involves setting up cones and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. Traffic-control must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory. Traffic Controllers must be able to work in all weather conditions and stand for long periods of time. Excellent communication skills are a necessity. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required. Majority of work will be
NIGHT SHIFTS. 40-50
Hours a Week. The Traffic Controller reports to the Operations Manager and responsibilities include:
  • Setup, maintain and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, & traffic cones according to ATSSA and ODOT regulations.
  • Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle.
  • Drive the company vehicle to and from job sites in a safe manner.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Keep company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
