We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Outdoor Living Crew Leader to manage on-site construction of premium backyard living spaces. In this role, you will lead a 2-to-4-person crew to execute high-end residential projects, including paver patios, custom decks, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and custom fire pits . You will bridge the gap between design blueprints and physical construction, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality. Key Responsibilities On-Site Leadership & Project Execution Lead daily operations on the job site, assigning specific tasks to crew members and maximizing field productivity. Translate blueprints, 2D/3D design layouts, and construction scales into physical builds. Manage site preparation , including layout validation, excavation, grading, elevation setting, and drainage implementation. Execute hands-on construction of hardscape features, ensuring exact pitches for pavers, structurally sound framework for decks, and proper stone/masonry alignment for kitchens and fire pits. Operations & Quality Control Track materials, hours, and project milestones daily using our digital field management software. Coordinate material deliveries and verify inventory matches the project scope before builds begin. Enforce strict quality control standards to minimize errors, material waste, and re-work. Safety & Equipment Management Enforce OSHA safety guidelines on site, ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Operate and oversee heavy machinery (skid-steers, mini-excavators, trenchers) and specialized power tools (cut-off saws, plate compactors, laser levels). Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment , ensuring they are clean, organized, and routinely serviced. Client & Team Relations Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, answering basic build questions with a professional and positive demeanor. Train and mentor crew members , developing their technical skills in stone-cutting, masonry, framing, and equipment operation.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on hardscape installation or residential outdoor construction experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/leadership role.
Technical Knowledge:
Proven mastery of base preparation, grade setting, drainage solutions, paver interlocking techniques, and deck framing.
Equipment Mastery:
High proficiency operating skid-steers, mini-excavators, and industrial cut-off saws.
Plan Interpretation:
Demonstrated ability to accurately read, scale, and build from architectural landscape designs and blueprints.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to safely drive a medium-duty truck and trailer combination.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to consistently lift up to 80 lbs, bend, stand, and perform heavy manual labor in all outdoor weather conditions.
Language:
