Summit, Illinois, with travel to job sites throughout Chicagoland Job Summary Got Dumped Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Architectural Weatherization Crew Leader to supervise a field crew and complete residential weatherization projects in accordance with IHWAP, CEDA, BPI, OSHA, and company standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with architectural weatherization measures, can independently manage a crew and job site, and knows how to perform and interpret required diagnostic testing. BPI certification is strongly preferred. This is a working crew-leader position. The Crew Leader will supervise employees while also actively performing weatherization work, solving field problems, monitoring production, and ensuring each project is completed safely, correctly, and ready for inspection.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead, supervise, train, and work alongside an architectural weatherization crew. Review work orders, scopes of work, assessment information, specifications, and job requirements before beginning work. Assign daily responsibilities and ensure crew members remain productive throughout the workday. Complete architectural weatherization measures, including: Air sealing Attic, wall, floor, crawlspace, and rim-joist insulation Dense-pack insulation Weather-stripping and door sealing Attic access treatment Duct sealing and insulation Ventilation-related architectural work Minor carpentry and building repairs associated with weatherization Other approved energy-efficiency and health-and-safety measures Set up and operate insulation machines and other weatherization tools and equipment. Identify field conditions that may affect the approved scope of work and immediately report necessary changes. Perform required pre-work, intermediate, and post-work diagnostic testing. Accurately record test results and use those results to guide air-sealing and weatherization work. Ensure installed materials and completed work meet applicable program standards, manufacturer specifications, and building-code requirements. Maintain job-site safety and enforce OSHA, lead-safe work, containment, personal protective equipment, and company safety requirements. Monitor material usage and ensure the crew has the proper materials, equipment, and tools. Complete required job documentation, testing forms, material records, time records, and photographs. Verify that all work is complete before leaving the property. Perform a final quality-control walkthrough and ensure the project is ready for inspection. Correct workmanship issues and minimize callbacks, failed inspections, and material waste. Maintain professional communication with homeowners, office personnel, supervisors, inspectors, and program representatives. Keep company vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites organized and clean. Diagnostic Testing Experience Qualified applicants should have experience performing and interpreting weatherization diagnostic testing, including: Blower-door testing Building air-leakage testing Combustion Appliance Zone testing Worst-case depressurization testing Draft and spillage testing Carbon monoxide testing Gas-leak testing Manometer and pressure-diagnostic testing Room-to-room pressure testing Pressure-pan or duct-leakage testing Exhaust-fan airflow testing Mechanical ventilation testing Health-and-safety testing required before and after weatherization work The Crew Leader must understand how diagnostic results affect the scope of work and must be able to recognize unsafe conditions requiring work to stop or be referred to management. Qualifications Minimum of three years of residential weatherization, insulation, air-sealing, construction, or building-performance experience preferred. Previous experience leading and supervising a field crew. BPI Crew Leader certification strongly preferred. Additional BPI certifications are a plus. Knowledge of

IHWAP, CEDA, DOE

Weatherization Assistance Program, or similar weatherization-program requirements is strongly preferred. Ability to independently perform diagnostic testing and accurately document the results. Strong knowledge of residential building science, airflow, moisture control, insulation, ventilation, and combustion safety. Experience using blower doors, digital manometers, combustion analyzers, gas-leak detectors, pressure pans, and related diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and follow work orders, specifications, field standards, and manufacturer instructions. Ability to train employees, delegate responsibilities, monitor workmanship, and maintain production. Ability to recognize conditions that fall outside the approved scope of work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to passing inspections the first time. Ability to communicate effectively with both field and office personnel. Basic ability to use a tablet or mobile device for photographs, timekeeping, forms, and job documentation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation to the company's Lemont facility. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work a consistent full-time schedule. Spanish/English bilingual ability is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to enter and work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and other confined areas. Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, stand, and perform physical labor for extended periods. Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and physically demanding environments while wearing required protective equipment. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can take ownership of an assigned project from start to finish. The successful candidate must be able to lead employees, perform skilled weatherization work, complete diagnostic testing, maintain accurate documentation, communicate problems promptly, and deliver inspection-ready work. Candidates who only have general construction-supervision experience but no weatherization or building-performance experience may not be a fit for this position.
