Full-Time About Schoony's Lawn Care Schoony's Lawn Care is a fast-growing property maintenance company serving customers throughout the Twin Cities metro. We're looking for a Crew Lead who isn't afraid to work. This is NOT a position where you'll spend your entire day sitting in an office, sending emails, or watching other people work. You'll be leading crews while working alongside them , operating equipment, completing jobs, solving problems in the field, and making sure our day-to-day operations run efficiently. We're especially interested in someone early in their career who is hungry for an opportunity to move into management, make good money, and grow alongside a company that's still growing itself. You don't need 10 or 15 years of management experience. If you have the work ethic, leadership ability, common sense, and drive to prove yourself, we're willing to give the right person significant responsibility early in their career. Perform well, take ownership, help us grow, and there will be room to move up. This Is a Hands-On Management Position We want to be very clear about what "Crew Lead" means at Schoony's. You will be working. One day you may be coordinating crews, schedules, equipment, and customers. The next you may be running a mower, completing a cleanup, spreading mulch, loading a trailer, or jumping onto a jobsite because a crew needs another set of hands. You'll be expected to: Lead crews while working alongside them Mow, trim, edge, blow, and perform general property maintenance Complete spring and fall cleanups Install mulch, plants, and complete light landscaping projects Operate commercial mowers and landscape equipment Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials Coordinate daily routes and job schedules Make sure jobs are completed efficiently and correctly Manage and hold crew members accountable Train and develop employees Help onboard new field employees Monitor job quality and productivity Communicate with customers when necessary Handle problems and make decisions in the field Coordinate trucks, trailers, equipment, and materials Report progress and operational issues to ownership Help improve company processes and efficiency Do whatever reasonably needs to be done to keep the day's work moving We don't expect our managers to ask employees to do work they aren't willing to do themselves. Requirements Valid driver's license Clean driving record sufficient to operate a company vehicle Must have or be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card before employment begins Lawn care, landscaping, construction, property maintenance, or similar hands-on experience strongly preferred Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience operating commercial lawn and landscape equipment strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding outdoor work Ability to work in varying weather conditions Dependable transportation to our Shoreview shop Ability to work extended hours during peak spring and fall periods when necessary Why Join Schoony's?
