ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a working Team Lead to run our kitting and assembly area in Plant City. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on the floor building kits alongside your team, and you'll also be the person who owns the area: setting the day's priorities, training new associates, checking quality before kits ship, and keeping the operation moving when volume spikes. The kitting area is where accuracy matters most. A miscounted kit means a customer opens a box that's missing a part, and your job is to make sure that doesn't happen — through good process, good training, and a final set of eyes. This is also a broad role. Kitting is your home base, but you and your team regularly support the rest of the warehouse: receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory counts. We're a team that flexes to the day's workload, and a good Lead here is someone who can shift their crew where the need is without losing the thread on their own area.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the Area Plan and assign daily kitting work against orders, schedules, and stock levels Set the pace and priorities for a team of associates, and adjust as the day changes Train new associates on kit procedures, safety, and quality standards, and cross-train the team on other warehouse functions Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback, and escalate performance concerns to the Warehouse Manager Communicate clearly across shifts and with other departments about status, delays, and shortages Help interview and onboard new team members as we grow Own Quality & Accuracy Verify kits against the bill of materials, kit sheet, or work order before they're closed out Audit completed work and spot-check counts to catch errors before they reach a customer Investigate errors, identify the root cause, and adjust the process so it doesn't repeat Flag BOM, kit sheet, or component issues and work with the Manager to get them corrected Enforce safe work practices and a clean, organized, well-stocked kitting area Build Kits (hands-on) Work alongside the team building kits: pulling components, counting, verifying, and packaging Bag, box, label, and stage completed kits for stock or outbound orders Perform light assembly and packaging work as kits require Record completed kit quantities and component usage in our system Support the Broader Warehouse Pick, pack, and stage customer orders using pick lists, handheld scanners, or our warehouse system Prepare outbound shipments for carrier pickup (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL) Receive incoming shipments: unload, verify against paperwork, inspect, and put stock away Lead or participate in inventory counts, cycle counts, and discrepancy research Move product using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and a forklift Redirect the team to other warehouse work when that's where the day's need is
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required 2+ years of warehouse, kitting, assembly, production, or distribution experience 1+ year leading, training, or directing the work of others — formally or as a go-to person on a crew Strong attention to detail and accurate counting; comfortable being the last check before work ships Able to read and work from a bill of materials, kit sheet, work order, or routing Comfortable with basic math, paperwork, handheld scanners, and basic computer use Clear communicator who can give direction, give feedback, and raise problems early Dependable and punctual — your team takes its cue from you Willing to work hands-on and move between kitting and other warehouse functions as needed Able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout an 8-hour shift, with or without reasonable accommodation Highly Preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) — a meaningful part of our team is more comfortable in Spanish, and a Lead who can train, coach, and communicate in both languages is a real advantage here Prior experience as a lead, trainer, or supervisor in a warehouse or production setting Forklift certification, or experience and willingness to become certified Experience with a warehouse management or inventory system (WMS) Experience with process improvement, cycle counting, or quality auditing
WHAT WE OFFER
$52,500
•$57,500 annually, based on experience + bonus potential Consistent Monday-Friday daytime hours — no rotating nights Paid on-the-job training, including forklift certification Health, dental, and vision insurance
•stipend Paid time off and holidays A real path forward — this role is a step toward Warehouse Supervisor and Manager as we grow
WORK ENVIRONMENT
