As a Driver Fleet Lead at WEL Companies, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the transportation operations of the company. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of your fleet of company drivers, you will be tasked with resolving any issues that may arise during transportation, such as delays, accidents, or mechanical problems. Your ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other team members will be essential in ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. You will need to have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Essential Functions:
Provide direction to drivers to ensure excellent customer service. Monitor and track driver performance to ensure on-time delivery and safe driving practices. Communicate with driver to provide dispatch information, support, guidance, and address any issues that may arise during their trips. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards for all drivers under your supervision. Analyze data and reports to optimize driver schedules, fuel efficiency, and overall fleet performance. Manage driver payroll and home time. Assist planner with routing equipment to mechanical service, and ensuring equipment is constantly in rotation. Clear communication to support staff to help with any unresolved issues. Assist with company driver orientation. Identify loads that may be running early and/or late and find solutions to ensure on-time delivery while keeping drivers and contractors moving. Skills & Abilities:
Education High School Diploma or equivalent; required Associates degree (two-year college or technical school); preferred Experience 5 plus years of related experience in the transportation industry; a plus AS400 experience; a plus
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products and Windows. Ability to learn and use proprietary software. Advanced keyboarding skills.
Essential Skills:
