Full Job Description Shipping Coordinator/Bridge Fabrication Location:
Tigard, OR Pay:
$27 to $30 per hour
DOE Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., four 10 hour shifts This is part logistics coordination, part hands on shop support, and entirely focused on keeping big steel moving safely and efficiently! The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement of inbound and outbound materials, fabricated steel, and assemblies across the Fought campus. Working closely with Production, Purchasing, Project Management, Transportation, and the Yard teams, this position ensures materials are received, staged, loaded, documented, and shipped according to project schedules and customer requirements. Know:
This is definitely not a desk only position. You will spend a good portion of your day in the shop and yard, working around active steel fabrication operations. One moment you may be updating shipping documentation, and the next you may be operating an overhead crane, jumping on a forklift, or helping move large pieces of fabricated steel. They are looking for a Shipping Coordinator who can keep materials moving, production on track, and the shop and yard running efficiently. What You'll Do As the Shipping Coordinator, you'll coordinate the safe and efficient movement of materials, fabricated steel, and assemblies across the facility.
You'll:
Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments based on production and project schedules Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Project Management, Transportation, and Yard teams Coordinate the receiving, staging, loading, and shipping of materials and fabricated steel Safely operate overhead cranes to move and stage large pieces of steel and fabricated assemblies Jump on a forklift to load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop and yard Help move, organize, and stage large metal components while maintaining proper placement and traceability Communicate with carriers, suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to keep shipments moving Maintain accurate shipping documentation and material traceability Help organize and maximize yard space and material flow Verify that the correct materials are loaded and shipped to the right location Identify potential delays or issues and communicate them before they impact production or customers Move regularly between the office, shop, and yard throughout the day Support a safe, clean, and organized work environment Jump in and help wherever needed to keep operations moving What's In It for You $27 to $30 per hour DOE Four day workweek with Fridays off and optional overtime Consistent Monday through Thursday schedule Opportunity to join a stable and established company Active role that combines coordination, equipment operation, and hands on shop work Fast paced environment where your work directly impacts production and project success Opportunity to operate overhead cranes and forklifts while working with large fabricated steel components Work alongside experienced professionals in steel fabrication and construction Opportunity to learn, grow, and build a long term career What You Need to Have Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, material coordination, warehouse operations, or a similar role Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and follow through Comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing or industrial environment Comfortable spending a significant portion of the day in the shop and yard Willing and able to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts as part of the daily responsibilities Comfortable working around and helping move large pieces of steel and fabricated assemblies Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and keep everyone on the same page Strong attention to detail, especially with shipping paperwork and material tracking Ability to work independently and take initiative Safety minded and dependable Steel toed boots are required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work the full Monday through Thursday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
