As our company continues to grow, we're looking for a reliable, hardworking team member to support our staging operations through furniture moving, staging installations, de-staging, and warehouse organization. Position Summary Home Glo is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Mover & Warehouse Assistant to support our home staging team throughout the Chicagoland area. This is a hands-on, physically active position focused primarily on the safe loading, transportation, delivery, placement, and removal of furniture and staging inventory. You will assist with staging and de-staging residential properties, prepare furniture for transportation, and help maintain an organized and efficient warehouse. The ideal candidate is physically capable, punctual, organized, and takes pride in handling furniture and clients' homes with care. Because our team works in professionally staged properties, attention to detail and respect for furnishings, flooring, walls, and other surfaces are essential. This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) opportunity with flexible weekday scheduling based on project needs. Hours may vary from week to week depending on the staging schedule. Responsibilities As a Part-Time Mover & Warehouse Assistant, you will work alongside the Home Glo team to transport, install, remove, and maintain staging inventory.

Responsibilities include:

Load and unload furniture, rugs, artwork, lighting, décor, and other staging inventory. Assist with staging installations and de-staging appointments throughout the Chicagoland area. Safely move furniture into and out of occupied and vacant residential properties. Wrap, protect, pack, and secure furniture and accessories for transportation. Assist with loading and organizing moving trucks to maximize space and protect inventory. Place furniture according to direction from the staging team. Protect walls, flooring, doorways, furniture, and other surfaces while moving inventory. Organize furniture, décor, and supplies within the Home Glo warehouse. Assist with receiving, unpacking, assembling, and storing new furniture and inventory. Inspect furniture and staging materials for damage and report any concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work environment. Assist with basic furniture assembly or disassembly when needed. Represent Home Glo professionally while working in clients' homes and interacting with Realtors®, homeowners, builders, vendors, and other professionals. Perform other moving, warehouse, and staging-related duties as needed to support daily operations. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver furniture and other items weighing approximately 80 lbs , including with the assistance of another team member when appropriate. Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the workday. Ability to safely navigate stairs while carrying furniture and staging materials. Dependable, punctual, and able to arrive at scheduled jobs on time. Strong attention to detail and respect for furniture, property, and client homes. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team. Professional and respectful demeanor. Availability during weekdays with scheduling that may vary based on project needs. Preferred Previous experience in moving, furniture delivery, warehousing, home staging, furniture installation, or a related hands-on position. Experience loading and organizing moving trucks. Familiarity with furniture protection, wrapping, and safe moving techniques. Basic furniture assembly experience. Comfortable using basic technology, including smartphones, text messaging, email, and scheduling applications. Previous professional moving or warehouse experience is helpful but not required. Candidates with a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Physical Requirements Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver furniture and staging materials weighing up to approximately 80 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the workday. Ability to safely carry furniture and other items through residential spaces, including stairways and narrow areas. Comfortable working in occupied and vacant residential properties throughout the Chicagoland area.
