Job Description
H&R Const. Co., a highway construction contractor in Dalton, Minnesota, is now taking applications for a Yard General Laborer. This position plays a key role in our organization, supporting the coordination of receipts and deliveries to various projects and sites throughout Minnesota. This is a seasonal position, typically running from March through December. We're a highly driven, goal-oriented team, and we're looking for someone who is self-motivated and takes pride in getting the job done right. Responsibilities Load and unload construction materials on semis using telehandlers, skid steers, and forklifts Unload and verify material receipts from suppliers Assemble and stage various construction materials and equipment for delivery Maintain and organize materials throughout the yard, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Monitor and count inventory availability Maintain coherence and uniformity of stored material Occasionally haul materials and equipment to and from job sites Perform other tasks as needed Benefits 401(k) Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays Company paid training opportunities Overtime pay available Yearly raises Bonus pay Life insurance Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Required Qualifications High school diploma Physical ability for manual labor and the ability to work in all weather conditions Excellent communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Ability to work flexible hours, with the potential to work weekends (as required during construction season) Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to receive one (company paid) Must pass a pre-employment drug test Preferred Qualifications Construction experience Equipment operation experience (forklift, telehandler, skid steer, etc.) Experience loading and unloading semis Experience loading and hauling heavy equipment Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications How to Apply Apply via Indeed, otherwise applications are available by request at our office located at 13349 County Hwy. 35, Dalton, Minnesota 56324 (Dalton Exit #67 off I-94), or via email by contacting hrconst@prtel.com.
