The George J. Howe Company is seeking an individual to operate our production facility warehouse. Please note that we go through a temporary agency for the first 90 days of employment. Position starts at $13.75/hr plus a $1/hr attendance bonus, as well as an incentive plan. After 90 days with the agency, there would be a $0.50 increase when hired outright.

JOB SUMMARY

Performance of this job involves the receiving, shipment, and/or storage of packaged product materials; as well as to supply, remove and transport such materials to various plant locations, as specified by supervision. ​​Role and Responsibilities​ Builds and records shipping orders as specified on order sheets. Facilitates communication with employees associated by job function, company sales representatives, office personnel, or supervision, when necessary. Operates fork-lift (i.e., truck or hand-jack) as required in performance of job duties. Wraps order loads when necessary (i.e., by hand or with wrapping machine), or upon completion of an entire pallet load of product goods. Completes list of product materials which were not included in shipment order (e.g., unavailable product material), and includes those materials as possible. Labels and/or stamps orders (e.g., UPS orders); signs or completes all paperwork associated with shipments (sent or received), as necessary. Removes packaged product materials from various locations (e.g., production areas, or freight elevator), as necessary or as specified by supervision. Loads and unloads trucks (at loading docks) with shipments or orders; and moves trucks from dock area, when necessary. Assists with inventories as required (e.g., daily, weekly, bi-annual). Transports electric truck(s) to battery-charging station as necessary. Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be required. Maintains a clean and organized work area. ​​Qualifications and Education Requirements​ High school graduate or the equivalent is desirable. Prior related experience is desirable. Preferred Skills Good organizational skills are required. The desire to work both independently and with others. The ability to make appropriate mathematical calculations (i.e., convert ounces to pounds, grams, or kilograms). Operate machinery associated with job duties. Physical requirements The ability to life (i.e., assist with up to 150 pounds) and to move heavy loads (i.e., up to 1200 pounds with pallet jack or forklift). Stand for at least eight hours. Bend from the waist and reach above the head repeatedly. The Howe Company is a full-line candy and nut distributor, as well as a purveyor of food service and gourmet coffees. "Here's Howe" products are currently sold in hundreds of grocery stores and retail chains east of the Mississippi.
