General Laborer (Fabrication Job Shop) 2nd Shift- 4, 10 hour shifts (training on 1st shift) 18-20/hr Start ASAP Job Description This role offers the opportunity to work as a versatile general laborer, also known as a Floater, in a busy fabrication job shop environment. You will move between different areas of the shop, supporting both machine operations and warehouse activities, and performing a variety of tasks that keep production running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning different functions, and contributing as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities Perform a variety of general labor tasks across multiple areas of the fabrication job shop rather than staying in a single workstation. Support machine-side operations that may include working near vertical CNC machines, lathes, band saws, iron welders, punch presses, and other fabrication equipment under direction. Assist with counting parts accurately and loading and unloading shipments in the warehouse and inventory areas. Help operate the PEM machine by pushing buttons, monitoring basic functions, and stacking finished parts in an organized manner. Support press brake machine operations by loading and unloading materials and finished parts safely and efficiently. Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 5060 pounds throughout the shift, following proper lifting techniques. Perform packing and basic material handling tasks as needed to support production and shipping activities. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to perform multiple tasks and switch between different duties and work areas as needed. Capability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 5060 pounds safely. Comfort working around fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, lathes, band saws, iron welders, punch presses, and press brake machines. Basic familiarity with general labor tasks including packing, material handling, and parts counting. Ability to use or learn to use power tools in a manufacturing environment. Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with coworkers. Work Environment The role is based in a fabrication job shop that includes a machine-side area with vertical CNCs, lathes, band saws, iron welders, punch presses, press brakes, and a warehouse/inventory section for materials and shipments. The environment is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The primary schedule is 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with overtime as needed, and initial training takes place on 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dress code requires pants, a t-shirt, steel-toe shoes, and safety glasses, and additional personal protective equipment may be provided as needed for specific tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York Haven, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
