Job Title:

Material Handler / Forklift Operator Position Overview We are seeking a versatile Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support our fast-paced manufacturing, production, and fabrication operations. This role ensures the safe movement, storage, and tracking of materials while keeping active stations stocked and supporting continuous production flow. You will operate heavy equipment, handle physical product transfers, inspect inventory, and strictly adhere to workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation :

Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, stage, and transport raw materials, pallets, finished products, and oversized bundles (up to 60' long) throughout the facility.

Material Handling & Transfer :

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming/outgoing shipments. Connect and disconnect PVC hoses, transfer lines, or fittings, and safely pour or move production materials into designated molds, bags, or containers.

Inventory Control :

Organize materials to maximize space, keep workstations stocked, accurately record material movements, and assist with inventory stock counts.

Operational & Technical Support :

Troubleshoot minor equipment or connection issues as needed and assist production teams with daily workflow tasks.

Safety & Maintenance :

Maintain a clean, organized work area, monitor transfer lines for leaks or hazards, comply with OSHA guidelines and plant safety rules, and wear required PPE at all times.

Qualifications & Skills Certification & Experience :

Valid forklift operator certification or documented forklift experience required. High school diploma or equivalent.

Work History :

Prior experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, chemical processing, or general material handling environments preferred.

Technical Aptitude :

Strong mechanical aptitude required. Ability to use hand tools and work with transfer systems, PVC hoses, or fittings preferred.

Documentation Skills :

Ability to read blueprints, bills of lading, bills of materials, and a measuring tape, with solid basic math and reading skills.

Tech & Communication :

Familiarity with inventory software/WMS is a plus; strong teamwork and communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.

Flexibility :

Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends if needed. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Physical stamina to perform repetitive manual labor, including heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, and positioning materials throughout the shift. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in industrial manufacturing environments that may include exposure to heat, noise, or chemicals. Strict adherence to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety protocols.
