Job description Midwest Hardwood is actively seeking a full time Lumber Piler to join our growing, fast-paced lumber industry. Midwest Hardwood Company is a hardwood manufacturing company and industrial building product distributor serving domestic and international customers since 1981.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for bundling lumber in a fast-paced hardwood lumber manufacturing environment.
• Pulls boards from chain and stacks into carts.
• Places boards onto carts by color code/grade marks.
• Ensures lumber piles on carts are straight and even-ended, provide visually attractive packs.
• Ensures lumber piles on carts are not mixed and are sorted according to grade.
• Directs questions concerning lumber packages or grade marks to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and uncluttered work area, help in end of shift clean up.
• Preforms other duties when assigned.
• Ability to communicate with others in a positive manner through verbal and written means.

Qualifications /

Experience Required:

• Must have exceptional attendance
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Good communication skills
• Willing to cross train in other roles

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend and twist repetitively
• Must be able repetitively lift 50Lbs
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (summer hot and winter cold)
• Noisy, fast-paced, semi-dirty
• Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection are required in production areas
