Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Operations Supervisor to lead our Solid Waste Collection team. In this vital role, you will oversee daily collection operations, ensuring efficient and safe waste pickup services across designated routes. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold safety standards, and optimize operational workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on community cleanliness and environmental sustainability while managing a dedicated team of drivers and crew members. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of waste collection crews, ensuring timely and efficient pickups using various trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds. Monitor route progress, troubleshoot issues on the ground, and adjust schedules as needed to meet service commitments. Ensure all drivers operate vehicles safely and adhere to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections of trucks and equipment, including mechanical checks for trucks with manual transmissions or specialized bodies. Provide training and guidance on proper loading techniques, manual lifting procedures, and equipment operation to promote safety and efficiency. Manage load & unload processes for different truck types, ensuring compliance with weight limits and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of daily operations, vehicle maintenance logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on solid waste collection or similar heavy-duty transportation roles. Strong mechanical knowledge of various trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds. Hands-on experience with manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in physically demanding environments involving heavy lifting and manual load handling. Familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities such as load & unload procedures and route management. Excellent driving record with valid licenses appropriate for heavy vehicle operation; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred. Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation and waste collection practices. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
