STREETS MAINTENANCE/LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one (1) year light equipment operator experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess a valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License - Class B with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives a variety of vehicles in support of City streets maintenance operations including dump truck, ten-wheeler, water truck, garbage truck, and bulk trash truck. Operates front loader and back hoe used for digging trenches. Performs a variety of streets maintenance and repair functions including patching holes, sweeping streets, repairing street signs, and painting. Trims trees and removes brush around City roadways; hauls and burns brush/trees. Grades alley ways and crack seals streets. Provides emergency on-call assistance regarding sewer issues; unplugs City sewers. Assists with solid waste collections activities; delivers trash containers to customers. Repairs and maintains departmental equipment.
