Responsible for operating the brine water truck to maintain proper flow throughout the Warm Solution Mining (WSM) borax area. This position supports Lake Operations by washing wells and distribution lines, maintaining circulation, injection, and production well flows, and ensuring the reliable delivery of raw brine to manufacturing facilities while minimizing salting and optimizing production.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate the brine water truck to wash production wells, circulation wells, injection wells, and distribution lines. Isolate wells or cans requiring washing and adjust system flows as necessary to maintain optimal brine distribution. Monitor water usage during wash operations and maintain accurate operational logs and records. Perform daily equipment inspections, identify operational issues, and troubleshoot equipment problems. Perform routine equipment maintenance and submit maintenance work requests through M3 when repairs are required. Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance and Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) personnel and work collaboratively with other departments. Handle hazardous waste in accordance with company policies, annual hazardous waste training, and applicable environmental regulations. Maintain compliance with all Company safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping standards while demonstrating safe work practices. Any other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor. Must be supportive of all Company policies and procedures including safety, environmental, housekeeping, participate in the SVM Safety Program, and demonstrate safe work practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred. Valid California Class C Driver's License. Valid California Class B Driver's License. Must possess a valid driver's license subject to DMV record monitoring. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and operational documents. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of well washing and brine distribution operations. Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment. Ability to accurately complete operational logs and reports. Familiarity with M3 work request system. Working knowledge of hazardous waste identification, labeling, handling, and disposal procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing. Requires manual dexterity. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and operating equipment. Occasional stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works outdoors in varying weather conditions. Regular exposure to airborne particles, uneven terrain, and moving mechanical equipment. Requires compliance with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures. Performs duties involving hazardous waste in accordance with company environmental policies and annual hazardous waste training.
