Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Salt Truck Driver, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining safe and accessible roadways and parking lots during winter conditions. Your expertise in operating specialized salt spreading equipment will ensure that transportation routes remain clear and secure. Duties Operate salt trucks and related ground maintenance equipment safely and efficiently to distribute salt or de-icing materials on designated roadways. Conduct pre-operation inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed before use. Coordinate with traffic management teams to optimize route coverage during adverse weather conditions. Maintain accurate logs of materials spread, routes traveled, and operational issues encountered during shifts. Perform routine maintenance on trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with environmental regulations regarding salt application. Possible hand - shoveling and deicing may be required. Qualifications Missouri Class E Driver's License required Pass a background check Keep cab and bed clean for proper functionality and safety. Proven experience operating large vehicles, specifically salt trucks or similar heavy-duty equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and routine maintenance. Outdoor work experience in winter conditions or similar environments preferred. Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle operation, chemical handling, and outdoor work environments. Excellent communication skills and a responsible attitude toward safety and operational procedures.
