Descriptions & requirements Job Description Operations Technicians are critical to success at FritoLay! Our Operations Techs are responsible for ensuring timely receipt of raw materials and shipment of outbound finished goods. In this role, here are some of the frequent tasks you will be doing:
Operations Technician:
This position is responsible for the timely receipt of inbound raw materials, processing into ingredient-ready material, and shipment of the outbound finished goods. Key expectations at this level include: Inspect and certify raw materials and finished goods to meet company specifications. Operate department machinery using a PLC Perform equipment start-ups and troubleshooting with the department Certify as a master trainer for one or more site safety programs and train all other employees from within the site to meet company requirements. Be an active member of the site environmental team Complete basic preventive maintenance, repairs, and sanitation on equipment with their department Attain pesticide applicator license by passing state-required testing Run corn drying operations or corn cleaning operations Attain a license to operate a railcar mover PIT and move railcars Attain forklift PIT license and utilize as necessary Assist in the tear down and rebuild of site equipment when necessary Participate in annual fumigations of site inventory Effectively communicate with the local railroad to order in empty railcars and release cars for shipment May be required to serve as the coordinator or backfill coordinator for a site compliance program (environmental, safety, food safety, or site security) Be an active member of the site environmental & safety team Periodic overnight travel will be required We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule, and it's a physical job! If you have never worked in a warehouse or manufacturing environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet the entirety of your shift. General Utility Techs are expected to stay on the line until relieved for break. We're seeking individuals who are flexible, committed, and safety-focused.
