Role Summary The Sanitation Technician is responsible to support the company's sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA, State, SQF and OSHA regulations. A Day in the Life Perform basic duties including running a commercial washer, cleaning utensils / (COP) parts by hand when needed, etc. Perform production equipment disassembly/setup for cleaning and sanitizing. Perform basic maintenance such as greasing / changing-replacing O-rings & gaskets. Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs Properly use chemicals to effectively and safely perform cleaning tasks Report employee safety, food safety, equipment faults, damage and quality concerns to appropriate personnel Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures Perform other job-related duties as assigned Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments. Maintain professional and positive attitude and work ethic What you Bring 1-2+ year minimum working in a food plant as a sanitor, cleaning equipment and machines Basic knowledge of pre-rinse, wash, rinse, sanitize steps Basic knowledge of top down washing sequence for proper food safety Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage Read & understand chemical label for safe usage Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs Ability to learn how to clean all plant lines Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately Ability to prioritize work Ability to problem-solve Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team to complete assigned tasks Ability to understand, read & write English- sanitation related documents, checklists etc. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. A passion for natural food and healthy eating as well as a desire to change the way we think about ingredients. Ability to follow verbal/written directions. Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
