Role Description The Sanitation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Northumberland, PA, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment. Daily tasks include cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, packaging lines, and facility areas according to established procedures and schedules. The role involves preparing and using cleaning chemicals safely, following standard operating procedures, and documenting sanitation activities for quality and regulatory purposes. The Sanitation Technician collaborates with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support food safety, reduce contamination risks, and ensure readiness for inspections. This position also requires adherence to safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and working in varying temperatures. Qualifications Ability to perform sanitation tasks in a food production environment, including equipment and facility cleaning, following detailed procedures and checklists. Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices, with an understanding of contamination control and proper handling of cleaning chemicals. Strong attention to detail for completing sanitation logs, following instructions, and meeting quality and regulatory standards. Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, lift moderate weights, and work in wet or warm environments as required by production. Reliable time management and organizational skills to follow cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks during production and shutdown periods. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance staff and report issues promptly. Willingness to work assigned shifts, including potential evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on production needs. Previous experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or industrial cleaning is preferred; familiarity with Tetra Recart® or similar packaging environments is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, along with a commitment to learning company-specific sanitation and safety procedures.
