Job Summary The Recycling Specialist at United Liquid Waste Recycling is responsible for depackaging food and beverage products and assisting in the recycling process of various materials including aluminum, tin, glass, and plastic. This position involves working with recycling machinery and heavy equipment, requiring attention to safety protocols and operational procedures. This role contributes to maintaining a clean and organized workspace while supporting the overall recycling operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Depackage food and beverage materials Assist in the manual sorting of recyclable materials such as aluminum, tin, glass and plastics, using appropriate tools and equipment. Remove materials that don't meet recycling standards. Collaborate with other team members to achieve production targets and ensure efficient operations within the recycling facility. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to prevent hazards and ensure efficient operations. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Attend the necessary training with the Safety Manager before operating equipment and power tools. Operate and monitor recycling machinery and equipment for sorting and processing materials. Assist in the baling and packaging of processed recyclable materials Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, while interacting with coworkers and managers. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed. Minimum Qualifications High School degree or GED required Able to understand how machines work and solve basic problems. Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications Experience with recycling machinery and equipment. Knowledge of various recyclable materials and their processing requirements. Physical and Mental Demands Ability to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch and balance for extended periods. Visual acuity to perform tasks involving close vision, distance vision and color vision. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Capability to handle physical demands of the job, including occasional exposure to loud noise and varying temperatures. Working Environment May be exposed to weather-related elements including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
