Thrive Veterinary Surgical Services, LLC

Veterinary Client Service Representative

Job Description

Job Title:
Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR) in Alaska (No Weekends) About Thrive Veterinary Surgical Services, LLC We are a high-touch, high-integrity small animal surgery service providing advanced soft tissue, neurologic, and orthopedic procedures to dogs and cats in Alaska. Formerly a mobile-only service, we have expanded into our first physical facility in Palmer. As we grow, we are seeking exceptional individuals to help lay the foundation of our culture and success.
Our goal is simple:
to support pets, clients, and veterinary professionals through excellent surgical outcomes and grounded, honest communication. Mission To positively impact Alaskan pet communities by providing advanced surgical services for dogs and cats — and by promoting personal wellness among veterinary professionals. Vision To bring reliable and sustainable small animal surgical services to Alaska, while empowering the veterinary community to achieve higher levels of wellness for themselves and their patients. Our Core Values 1. Quality then Quantity We do it right before we do it fast. Every patient and every task is handled with dedicated focus, care, and excellence. 2. Commitment to Consistency We build trust and results through persistent, dependable actions. Small habits, done well over time, are our superpower. 3. Compassionate Candor We communicate openly, clearly, and with empathy. We believe honest feedback and accountability - delivered with respect - strengthens relationships. 4. Purposeful Greatness We aim high on purpose. We're driven to grow, improve, and show up with responsibility, self-awareness, and high standards - both personally and professionally. Position Summary This is not a typical receptionist role. As one of our founding Client Service Representatives (CSR), you will be the face and voice of Thrive. You will work one-on-one with pet owners and referring clinics, orchestrate client communications, and help guide pet families through the surgical process with clarity and compassion. We are looking for someone deeply organized, analytical, and naturally self-directed — someone who finds satisfaction in making complex systems run smoothly. You'll also be a key contributor to our growth, helping track KPIs, suggest process improvements, and creatively engage in client acquisition. This role is ideal for someone with a Type 5 Enneagram personality — independent, thoughtful, and fueled by competence, data, and knowledge. This CSR role is not only foundational to the success of Thrive, but also to the larger specialty vision of our new building, Peak Veterinary Specialists . About Peak Veterinary Specialists Our new facility will be home to multiple veterinary specialists under one roof. Thrive will be the anchor surgical practice — and over time, we plan to welcome other independently operated specialty services or hire other specialists as a part of Thrive (e.g., neurology, oncology, dermatology). This CSR will initially support Thrive but must also align with the mission and vision of Peak Vet as we intentionally grow into a collaborative specialty center. Peak Veterinary Specialists Mission To provide a distinctive location for small animal veterinary specialists to take root, build, and positively impact the surrounding pet communities. Peak Veterinary Specialists Vision To advance the profession of veterinary medicine within the state of Alaska through intentional and collaborative local veterinary specialty care. Key Responsibilities Client Communication & Office Flow Field and triage all incoming phone calls and emails Manage appointment scheduling and peri-operative communications Collect and process invoices, payments, and insurance claims Welcome and support clients before, during, and after surgery Encourage reviews and client feedback Maintain clear, warm, professional communication at all times Business Development and Marketing Support Help maintain consistent client growth and schedule optimization Conduct warm/cold outreach to clients and referring practices Help maintain a detailed case log for referencing Track and report key performance indicators (KPI) such as surgical volume, client conversion rates, and referral engagement Brainstorm ways to improve lead generation and client engagement Assist in organizing outreach and marketing events Monitor (but not post to) social media accounts Clinic Support & Operations Help keep the clinic clean and welcoming Assist with basic patient recovery (monitoring, comfort) Support surgical instrument care and sterilization Assist with inventory management and ordering Adapt to flexible daily task assignments based on clinical needs Anticipate and support the evolving needs of a growing specialty practice Who You Are (Ideal Candidate) Naturally organized, focused, and proactive Strong communication skills — both verbal and written Motivated by mastery, meaningful impact, and clarity Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable with data Analytical, curious, independent — someone who learns fast and wants to contribute Grace under pressure in a sometimes emotionally charged environment Thrives in a startup setting and wants to help build something purposeful Ready to take on evolving responsibilities over time What Success Looks Like in This Role All clients feel confident, informed, and well cared for Referring clinics receive timely, accurate updates and follow-through The schedule stays full and well-organized The clinic is clean, calm, and efficient Business operations run smoothly and improve over time, allowing the surgeon to focus on surgery Metrics are tracked and used to improve service as well as "move the needle forward" You bring ideas and ownership to the table as we grow into Peak Veterinary Specialists Why This Role Matters This is a ground-floor opportunity to be part of something meaningful from day one — not just a surgical practice, but an entire specialty center for Alaska's pet communities. The CSR you become will help define how we work, how we grow, and how we show up for clients, clinics, and each other.
