ACCOUNTING & CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Hoffman Boots | Kellogg, Idaho Hoffman Boots is a family-owned company proudly based in the Silver Valley of North Idaho for over 50 years. We are known as one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality hunting, lineman, and wildland fire boots, serving hardworking customers across the country. As Hoffman Boots continues to grow and modernize its systems and processes, we are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to join our accounting and customer support team. This is an in-office position based in Kellogg, Idaho. The position will initially be approximately 30-40 hours per week and is expected to quickly grow into a stable full-time, 40-hour-per-week role.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Accounting & Customer Support person supports several aspects of the business operations. This position handles customer relationships while allowing the company to have accurate, timely financial data. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and professional communication with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication & Customer Service Communicate professionally with clients regarding orders, invoices, payments, account balances, and related inquiries to maintain positive, professional relationships with customers through phone, email, or in-person communication. Coordinate with vendors to resolve billing questions, payment status updates, and account issues. Collaborate with internal team members to gather information, clarify transactions, and support accurate financial reporting. Handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Support the shipping department when particularly busy. Accounting & Financial Duties Record, categorize, and maintain accurate financial transactions in QuickBooks. Manage accounts receivable activities, including preparing invoices, tracking customer payments, and following up on outstanding balances. Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing vendor invoices, preparing payment requests, and maintaining vendor records. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and process bank deposits and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Maintain electronic and physical accounting records in accordance with company procedures. Research and resolve billing, payment, and transaction discrepancies. Administrative Support Provide general administrative support to office operations as needed. Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and filing systems. Assist with ordering and tracking office supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Two or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience. Experience Experience working in a small business, multi-client, or professional services environment. Working knowledge of general accounting principles, procedures, and best practices. Proficiency using QuickBooks to enter, categorize, review, and maintain financial transactions. Hands-on experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, vendor invoices, and payment support. Experience reconciling bank accounts, credit card activity, and other financial records with accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as other business software programs. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow processes, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor and exceptional people skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
