In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services to a portfolio of staffing industry clients across multiple states. You will manage payroll processing from start to finish, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and serve as a trusted resource for clients on payroll-related matters. The ideal candidate combines strong payroll expertise with exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a client-focused mindset. This is a hands-on payroll operations role that requires ownership, accountability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to resolve payroll issues, maintain data integrity, and continuously improve payroll processes. This position offers an opportunity to develop deep expertise in staffing industry payroll while building strong client relationships and contributing to the success of a growing organization. What you will do Process multi-state payrolls across various pay cycles accurately and on time Validate employee information including hours worked, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Maintain payroll records, employee data, and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy Configure and manage client-specific deductions, garnishments, benefits, and payroll settings Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related client questions and issue resolution Develop an understanding of client operations to support accurate payroll administration and invoicing Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless payroll processing and customer service Document payroll procedures and maintain adherence to established workflows and client requirements Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the client experience Support cross-training efforts and provide backup coverage for team members as needed Qualifications Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred 4 or more years of payroll processing, payroll administration, or related experience Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance practices Experience working with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Outstanding organizational and time management abilities Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information appropriately Strong customer service mindset with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism What Success Looks Like Payrolls are consistently processed with a payroll accuracy rate of 99% or higher Payrolls are completed on time, every pay cycle Client payroll inquiries and issues are resolved within established service-level expectations Payroll records, employee data, and documentation remain accurate and audit-ready Compliance requirements are met with minimal errors or corrections Process documentation is maintained and kept current Client satisfaction remains high through responsive and professional service Cross-training and backup coverage are maintained across assigned client portfolios Continuous improvement recommendations contribute to increased efficiency and service quality Encore is dedicated to helping clients grow by providing the best-in-class access to funding, service, mentoring, and consulting.
