Duties Operate the cash register efficiently, handling retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed while managing cash drawer handling and cash handling procedures. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos to enhance their shopping experience. Upsell products and promote store merchandise to maximize sales opportunities in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain knowledge of retail store products and merchandising standards to assist customers effectively and ensure the sales floor is well-stocked and visually appealing. Use POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions accurately, including returns, exchanges, and gift card sales. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or assisting via phone communication channels. Support inventory management by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting basic retail math to ensure accurate pricing and stock levels. Assist with supervising team members when needed, providing guidance on cashier procedures or customer service best practices. Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively and clearly explain product features or store policies. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling effective communication with a diverse customer base. Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for accurate transactions are highly desirable. Experience supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies will help you excel in this role. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards.
