Customers will follow your instruction while they paint on their own stretched canvases with acrylic paint. We are a local Paint and Sip studio in Tustin, CA. We help folks who aren't normally exposed to art have a fun night out of painting while they enjoy sipping on wine from our bar. Our main hours are nights and weekends and this position would require work during that time (typically 5-11 pm) but we do sometimes hold corporate events during the day Mon-Fri as well. This position though, will require at least one weekend shift (with one weekend off each month). We are a wine bar, too, and a small family owned business. Our artists will be instructors during some classes, teaching classes up to 60 people (helllllloooo public speaking!), and some classes you will be scheduled as a bartender or artist assistant to help people paint. We are looking for a team player who can jump in where needed and help the team succeed. We start everyone as an assistant and work you up to being an instructor and bartender on our team- so we'll give you lots of time to get trained and feel comfortable. You have lots of time to get used to the studio before you step on stage. Once trained, you will rotate between all three roles and receive a raise.

Responsibilities include:

Creating & Developing paintings to be taught in classes and used for promotional items. Developing & executing detailed teaching methods Instructing customers during class in an energetic, clear and well-paced manner while encouraging creativity and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Assisting customers and staff member(s) to ensure smooth class flow and promote customer painting success through teamwork and positive attitude. Bartending at our Wine and Beer bar, and assisting painters one on one when they need help with their paintings. Set up before class and clean up afterwards of the entire studio.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must be 21 or over (bar location) Ability to design and execute quality, acrylic paintings in various painting styles. Proficiency in Microsoft Word (PC or Mac) Basic computer skills and internet knowledge. Public Speaking or performance skills (comfortable speaking on a microphone). Time management and communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:

College Degree in Art or Design or related field experience. Some experience leading a group of people (classroom or otherwise) is strongly preferred. Previous experience with a paint and sip is a plus! Some experience in customer service also preferred- we are very big on providing an excellent customer experience!

Compensation:

Starting at $19.00/hour plus nightly gratuity tips (tips average $3-4/hr) as well as the opportunity for bonuses, rewards and room for advancement. Once proficient in bartending, assisting and instructing classes we move you up to 19.50/hr plus nightly tips and bonuses . Every year we have annual raises. Opportunity for painting reward bonuses if you create your own artwork. This is a part-time job working mainly weeknights and weekends, although some shifts may be during the week if you're available. We are looking for someone to help us 1-2 shifts per week, primarily on evenings and weekends. We do give our team members a minimum of one weekend off each month as well and rotate weekends off within the team.
