This hands-on, client-facing role includes home audio/video, Control4 and smart-home systems, Ring cameras and security devices, residential networking, Wi-Fi, and low-voltage cabling. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field experience, strong technical and troubleshooting skills, and exceptional customer service. Technicians must be comfortable working independently in clients' homes and businesses, diagnosing issues across multiple technologies, and delivering clean, professional solutions while clearly communicating with clients. Control4 certification is highly desirable, and residential Home AV experience is required. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for a technician who can independently install, troubleshoot, repair, configure, and support residential and small-business technology while delivering an exceptional client experience. We are looking for someone who combines strong AV and low-voltage experience with networking knowledge, technical aptitude, professionalism, and excellent customer service. What You'll Be Doing Home AV & Automation Strong residential Home AV experience is required .
Responsibilities may include:
Installing and troubleshooting home theater and audio/video systems Installing and configuring TVs, displays, speakers, and related equipment Diagnosing and resolving existing AV system issues Upgrading or replacing AV components Integrating multiple home technology systems Educating clients on system operation Control4 & Smart Home Control4 experience is highly desirable, and Control4 certification is strongly preferred.
Work may include:
Installing and replacing Control4 hardware Troubleshooting existing Control4 systems Supporting system configuration and upgrades Integrating AV, networking, lighting, security, and smart-home devices Diagnosing connectivity and equipment issues Providing client education and post-installation support Ring & Security Technology Who's Your Tech works extensively with Ring and connected-home security products.
Technicians may:
Install Ring doorbells, indoor/outdoor cameras, and floodlight cameras Troubleshoot and restore existing Ring equipment Diagnose Wi-Fi and connectivity issues Configure Ring devices, apps, notifications, and motion zones Test systems and confirm proper operation Explain system features to clients Our goal is to diagnose the problem first and provide the right solution , not simply replace equipment. Networking, Low Voltage & Technical Skills Modern AV and smart-home systems depend heavily on reliable networks and properly installed low-voltage infrastructure.
Technicians should be comfortable with:
Residential networks, routers, switches, access points, and Wi-Fi Troubleshooting wired and wireless connectivity Connecting AV, Control4, Ring, cameras, TVs, and smart devices Diagnosing IP and connectivity issues Running and terminating Ethernet and low-voltage cabling AV, camera, security, and structured wiring Wiring remediation, cleanup, and testing Identifying hardware, wiring, network, configuration, or software issues Working with apps, firmware, configuration tools, and connected devices We are looking for someone who can troubleshoot logically, identify root causes, adapt to unfamiliar technology, and determine the best solution before replacing components. Client Experience Technical expertise is only part of this position. Impeccable customer service skills are required. At Who's Your Tech LLC, the quality of the client experience matters just as much as the quality of the installation. Contract-to-Hire & Compensation This is a contract-to-hire position with an initial 90-day contract/probationary evaluation period .
Pay range:
$32-$35 per hour , based on experience, certifications, and technical qualifications.
During the initial contract period:
No company vehicle is provided Fuel/gas expenses are not reimbursed No employee benefits are provided Technician must provide reliable transportation and travel to client locations Successful completion of a background check is required Following the 90-day period, the technician may be considered for transition to a regular employee position based on performance, technical capability, client service, reliability, teamwork, and business needs.
