We provide DJ entertainment and complete event production for schools and special events across Southern California. Our work includes dances, pep rallies, football games, graduation ceremonies, and other large‑scale events requiring mobile DJ sound systems, intelligent lighting, trussing, drapery, video, décor, and special effects. We are expanding our team and looking for energetic, reliable Audio Visual Technicians who enjoy hands‑on work in a fast‑paced live event environment. Service Areas & Location Requirements (Please Read Carefully) Swell Productions is currently hiring in two separate regions . To avoid confusion, please review the areas below: 1. Corona, CA (Inland Empire) This hiring region includes Corona, Riverside, Lake Elsinore, Perris, and other nearby Inland Empire cities. 2. San Deigo County This hiring region includes Downtown San Diego, Escondido, Oceanside, Poway, and other nearby North County cities. Job Summary We are seeking a Freelance / Part‑Time AV Technician to assist with the setup and teardown of event production equipment. This role involves assembling mobile DJ sound systems, intelligent lighting, video displays, trussing, and other production elements. Work availability varies based on event bookings. Responsibilities and Duties Load and unload equipment Prepare, organize, and stage equipment for upcoming events Set up speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and related audio gear Assemble trussing, lighting fixtures, DMX cabling, and controllers Set up video displays, projectors, laptops, and playback devices Install drapery, props, and theatrical backdrops Pull, run, and coil cables Deliver equipment (experience with large vehicles is a plus) Troubleshoot issues on‑site and assist with problem‑solving Minimum Requirements Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Professional, positive attitude Strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving abilities Working knowledge of Mac and PC computers Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently Comfortable with physical work: bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, etc. Ability to work evenings and weekends Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to either Corona/Inland Empire or San Diego/North County Preferred Requirements Previous AV experience or background in audio technology or visual media Familiarity with PA systems, lighting systems, DMX protocol, projection systems, and control systems Basic understanding of audio, video, and lighting signal flow Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills Job Type Part‑time Temporary Freelance / As‑Needed (based on event schedule)

How would you describe your AV experience level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)? Please include a few examples of the types of events or setups you've worked on—such as school events, DJ systems, lighting rigs, sound system assembly, staging, trussing, cabling, projection, or other live event production work. If there are areas of the role where you would need additional training, would you be open to starting at a lower training rate until those skills are developed? Please explain your comfort level with this. This role involves temporary, seasonal events in your assigned region. Do you have reliable transportation, and are you willing to commute to nearby event sites when needed?
