AV Engineer/Audio Technician Description:
Kerem Shalom, a vibrant, progressive, 250-member synagogue in Concord, Massachusetts, is seeking a part-time AV/Audio Technician to manage 8-10 live and hybrid events and support ourmunity's A/V capabilities between September 2026 and March 2027. Availability A/V Engineer must be available for the Jewish High Holy Days (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) on the following dates: Rosh Hashanah Friday, September 11
  • Evening, approximately 5:00
  • 9:00 pm Saturday, September 12
  • Morning, approximately 9:00 am
  • 1:00 pm Yom Kippur Sunday, September 20
  • Evening, approximately 5:00
  • 9:00 pm Monday, September 21
  • Morning and early afternoon, approximately 9:30 am-1:30 pm and late afternoon and early evening, approximately 4:30 pm-8:30 pm A/V Engineer should also be available for most (hopefully all) of the following four evenings between October and March Friday, October 2, 6-9 pm (Simchat Torah) Friday, December 11, 6-9 pm (Chanukkah) Saturday, January 30, 6-9 pm (Winter concert) Saturday, March 20, 6-9 pm (Purim) Compensation Kerem Shalom has budgeted $45•50/hour, for a minimum of four hours.
(Hourly amount is dependent on experience.) A travel stipend may also be available.

Responsibilities:
Setting up and breaking down sound equipment, for the event Monitoring, optimizing and troubleshooting audio mix during the event for live sound and broadcast (Zoom) audio feeds ing configure, maintain, and troubleshoot our A/V infrastructure (occasional, typically 1-4 hours/month) Desirable skills and experience Setting up and running sound for small-to-medium live events (50-500 people) Managingplex Zoom events (live sound and video, remote participation, pre-recorded content presented both on-site and remotely, etc.) Familiarity with theponents of our system or their equivalents, including: Soundcraft UI16 mixer PTZOptics remote-controlled camera Dante audio network Associated software running on MacOS including: Dante controller PTZOptics camera controller Rogue Amoeba Loopback OBS Zoom Collaborating with volunteers in a religious or other non-profitanization
