Franklin / Nashville, TN and surrounding areas Position Summary The AV Technician is NDEVIO's on-site and remote AV expert for our Thrive managed service clients across the Franklin, Nashville, and surrounding area. You will monitor systems proactively, resolve issues quickly, support meetings during business hours, and act as a trusted, visible point of contact for clients, while upholding NDEVIO's core values. You will also perform mid-year and year-end preventive maintenance visits on systems covered under managed service contracts. Key Responsibilities Thrive Managed Support Monitor and manage client AV systems through Thrive, prioritizing proactive troubleshooting and remote resolution to reduce onsite visits and downtime. Meet SLA response and resolution targets, and escalate issues appropriately. Keep clients informed about equipment status, service activity, and recommended improvements. On-Site Support Test systems prior to meetings to ensure they are ready. Troubleshoot issues as they arise and provide live meeting support. Customer and End-User Support Provide hands-on training so users are comfortable with room systems and collaboration tools. Deliver a professional, courteous, low-friction experience for every interaction and build long-term client relationships. Maintenance, Repair, and Lifecycle Perform mid-year and year-end preventive maintenance visits on systems covered under managed service contracts. Perform routine maintenance on displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems, cameras, and conferencing equipment. Diagnose and repair hardware, software, network, and control-system issues promptly, prioritizing SLAs for urgent needs. Recommend and carry out equipment replacements and upgrades with minimal disruption and strong cost-efficiency. Installation and Integration Perform light install work and RMA swaps as needed, including projectors, speakers, monitors, microphones, cameras, and video conferencing systems. Integrate AV with client IT environments (network, room scheduling, and conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex), coordinating with client IT teams as needed. Support standardization so room experiences are consistent across locations. Documentation and Reporting Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance for every client. Maintain equipment inventories, room documentation, and as-built records. Report regularly on system health and recommend improvements or upgrades. Compliance and Safety Ensure repairs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client site security requirements. Complete any required site access, badging, or background screening. Stay current on AV technology and best practices that benefit our managed service clients. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Experience as an AV technician, installer, or similar technical role. Hands-on experience installing, operating, and troubleshooting AV equipment. Working knowledge of AV-over-IP, networked audio (e.g., Dante), and common video conferencing platforms. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and system drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, professional manner under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work comfortably at heights. Ability to work safely in manufacturing plant environments, including following site safety rules and wearing required PPE. Preferred Associate's degree or certification in AV technology, electronics, or a related field. CTS or Dante certification. Experience with control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC) and DSP programming. Experience with ticketing and remote monitoring tools. Work Environment and Travel Work takes place in corporate offices and manufacturing plants, with some remote monitoring and support. Travel to client sites is required, primarily within the Franklin, Nashville, and surrounding area. Travel involving overnight stays is occasional and typically limited to 1-2 days at a time. Schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, matching client business hours, with some flexibility in start and end times. Evening work is rare, and weekend work is not required. Conclusion The AV Technician keeps client audio-visual systems running reliably through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and responsive support. This role calls for technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
