Full-Time Position Summary Westwood Heights Schools is seeking a passionate and qualified Career and Technical Education (CTE) Instructor to lead our TV and Radio Media Technology program at Hamady High School. The ideal candidate will possess the technical expertise and instructional skills to prepare students for secondary, post-secondary, and career opportunities in digital media production, broadcasting, audio engineering, and media communications. Key Responsibilities Deliver industry-aligned, hands-on instruction in audio/video production, radio broadcasting, media scripting, editing software, and studio equipment operation. Maintain and manage program facilities, instructional equipment, studio spaces, and technical inventory. Align curriculum with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) CTE standard competencies and industry credentialing standards. Establish and facilitate an active Program Advisory Committee composed of local industry professionals. Prepare students for career readiness, portfolio creation, and industry-recognized certifications. Fulfill state CTE reporting requirements, student tracking, and program evaluation mandates.

Qualifications & Requirements Certification:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a CTE endorsement in Communication Technologies/Media (CIP Code 10.0202 or equivalent media endorsement), OR eligibility for an MDE Annual Career Authorizations (ACA) based on industry experience.

Industry Experience:

Minimum of 4,000 hours (or 2 years) of recent, relevant occupational experience in TV/Radio broadcasting, media production, or audio/video technology required for MDE CTE qualification.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Telecommunications, Media Production, Education, or related field preferred.

Skills:

Proficient in industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro, Audition) and studio hardware operation.
