Pay Schedule Month Number of Hrs./Wk. 40 Position Information Position Information Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of two (2) years of technical experience in video & audio production working with analog and digital video and audio. Emphasis on cinematic videography, motion graphic design, and audio production. Software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premier), DaVinci, Avid Pro tools experience. Experience with Gimbal operation, drone operation, closed captioning and video switcher operation. Excellent organizational, technical, oral and written communication skills. Can give and take instructions or critique on the creative produced. Ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs, and work in tight or confining spaces. Able to flex working schedule to cover a weekend event or non-traditional hours when needed. Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier. Works well in a team environment.
WORK SAMPLE
: Submit a link to a highlight reel showcasing your videography and editing work, along with additional links to samples and a brief description of your role in each production. Desired Qualifications Experience operating and supporting podcast production, including recording, audio equipment, and soundboard operation. HD & 4K videography filming. Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot License. Proficiency in time management software, DAM, and archival systems. Tri-caster and Live Event production experience. Communication, Marketing, Social Media, and Paid media experience. All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered. Position Details Position Purpose The Video Support Technician supports the university's strategic marketing and communications efforts through the creation of high-quality video and audio content while providing operational support for the Creative Media Team's production facilities. Responsibilities include filming, video editing, podcast production, sound design, and supporting the production of campus events. The position collaborates with senior video staff, creative team members, and account managers to deliver brand-aligned content and assist across all aspects of multimedia production. In addition, the Video Support Technician serves as the primary operator of the university's podcast studio and helps maintain studio spaces and production equipment, ensuring cameras, lighting, audio, and related resources are organized, functional, and ready for use.
