Eighteen are FOX Network affiliates, and together the stations produce approximately 1,300 hours of local news every week. FOX LOCAL, the company's free ad-supported digital and streaming product, extends that news, weather and local content across connected TV & mobile devices. JOB DESCRIPTION WTXF
Fox 29 is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist with key production and operational functions for live studio broadcasts, ensuring seamless transmission and maintaining our high broadcast standards.
Key Responsibilities Live Production:
Serve in core operational roles including Technical Director, Audio Board Operator, Floor Director, Technical Operations Coordinator, Master Control Operator, or Program Prep/Ingest Operator.
Equipment Operation:
Command production switchers, robotic camera systems, audio consoles, and automation systems.
Master Control & Automation:
Switch on-air programming, commercials, and promotional content according to the station log. Transfer media assets from servers to the automation system and verify segment timing.
Signal Acquisition & Feeds:
Tune in and troubleshoot satellite receivers, microwave systems, and IP-delivered live shots and feeds.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Monitor live on-air signals for video or audio loss, maintain strict quality control standards, and execute required FCC compliance procedures.
Troubleshooting & Reporting:
Identify technical issues promptly, resolve live feed problems, and prepare detailed post-transmission reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with emerging broadcast technologies, industry trends, and new production tools.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent industry experience.
Technical Skills:
Proven capability to operate a broad range of live production and master control equipment.
Problem-Solving:
Strong troubleshooting skills under tight, live-broadcast deadlines.
