Producer/Shooter

Job Description

Position:
Shooter / Field Producer (shooter-producer) Project type: Documentary / unscripted series, Discovery Channel
Location:
Palm Beach County, FL, with travel across Florida (Volusia, Indian River, and additional counties)
Employment:
Freelance / project-based V1 Productions is hiring experienced Shooter / Field Producers for Sky Patrol (working title), a character-driven law-enforcement aerial series for the Discovery Channel, shooting across Florida. You'll embed with law-enforcement ground and marine units during active patrol, shoot the action yourself on a shoulder camera, and produce on the fly, capturing real, live incidents and building character-driven stories around the officers involved. This is a self-directed field role for someone who can shoot to a high cinematic standard and produce a story on their own. What you'll do: Embed with a ground or marine unit during active patrol and shoot on a shoulder camera alongside POV/dash and officer chest cameras. Capture live incidents as they happen and produce field sequences and interviews with the officers involved. Log incidents, write daily hot sheets, and feed selects and notes to the edit. Occasionally ride up with the helicopter unit for aerial coverage. What we're looking for: Proven documentary/unscripted shooter AND field/story producer (run camera and produce solo in the field). Strong composition and exposure instincts; able to match a defined multi-camera look. Calm, sound judgment in fast-moving, high-stakes environments; solid audio fundamentals; strong media discipline. Comfortable with long, irregular, patrol-aligned hours and travel between counties. Willing to wear body armor/PPE and complete required safety, water, and air-operations/access training; must pass background checks for agency credentialing.
Nice to have:
ride-along/first-responder or aviation/marine experience; aerial shooting; FAA Part 107 drone cert; FLIR familiarity.
