Fashion Assistant SiaDezigns and Workroom Hartford, CT Job Details Temporary | Internship $21 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Stitching Content creation Working with students Student support Organizational skills Full Job Description Job Summary •This is a temporary role but may grow to be a part time and eventually full time role•We're looking for a Fashion Studio Assistant who knows how to sew and understands the basics of garment construction to join our growing fashion studio. This position is perfect for a recent fashion graduate or someone early in their fashion career who is looking to gain hands-on experience in both fashion education and the day-to-day operations of a creative studio. In this role, you'll work closely with the studio owner to help prepare for and assist during sewing and fashion classes, support studio operations, and help create content for social media. This position requires patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask, as you'll be working with students who are completely new to sewing and fashion. If you can sketch fashion illustrations, that's definitely a bonus! Responsibilities Assist during sewing and fashion classes (classes run once a week for two hours over five-week sessions). Set up and clean up before and after classes. Help students during class by answering basic sewing and construction questions. Assist with creating and capturing content for social media that reflects the studio's brand and aesthetic. Help keep the studio organized and running smoothly. Assist with responding to emails and other administrative tasks as needed. Support special events, workshops, and other studio activities. Qualifications You genuinely love fashion and the fashion industry. You have sewing skills and understand basic garment construction. Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or working with groups is preferred. You are patient, encouraging, and enjoy helping others learn. You have excellent communication and organizational skills. You're a self-starter who can multitask and work independently. You're always keeping up with fashion, whether that's through magazines, runway shows, designers, or fashion content on social media. Fashion illustration skills are a plus, but not required.

$21.00 per hour
